Gratitude, meditation and journalling; 3 habits for personal wellbeing
You might have heard about gratitude and the importance of a daily gratitude journal, but have you ever commited to practicing gratitude daily? Better yet, give regular messages of gratitude to someone you care about. If your someone who is interested in the health of mind and body, be it the latest superfoods or optimal health; the recommended healthy habits for success; or wisdom from the wisest achievers, your in the right place. Keep your eyes open for todays key habits and strategies based on principles of meditation and journalling to up-scale your degree of health, wellbeing and achievment. You success capability and personal potential lies in daily habits and regular posiive actions. MAKE EVERY ACTION COUNT. A short introduction to WHY this set of resources is IMPORTANT and MEANINGFUL
Tiredness, work and life can very easily become overwhelming. To be gracious at all hours of the day can seem like a challenge, especially when your not grateful for the conditions you place yourself, the burdens you choose to carry, or the unsummountable list of tasks under the ‘to do’ list. Note, to give yourself a break is just as important as giving others a break. Being grateful for the smaller aspects of life leads to greater fullness and quality of life itself. To take a brake and focus on the smaller, lesser valued qualities of life may seem like a small waste of time, whereas in actual fact those small investements cause a snowball effect of positive health and wellbeing memories in mind. Each and every evening when we sink in the bed surface, allowing the head to rest and relax, the mind will instinctively begin to reflect over the days images, actions, experiences and problems. Wouldn’t it be nice to get to that point of the evening and be able to repeat the savoured moments which make life worth a priceless ammount. The priceless savoured moments are often the shortest, but the most memorable, hence why i feel the practice of gratitude is a sure fire way to improving quality of life and health of mind. I hope you do to. Question: Do you value the subtleties of life? Do find youself distracted by work, thoughts, hunger, tiredness and emotional events in your life? In order to improve the quality of life, sometime we have to slow down to appreciate the seemingly smaller qualities. What value are the senses if you never savour what is being sensed? The Cost of Physical Health Vs The Value of Mental Health
Quick Question: How much do you value your health of mind compared to your health of body? Have you considered your spendings of each year on health products, spa or gym memberships, supplements and nutrition dense food, beauty products and services, retreats and health books, resources, courses, subscriptions, learning aids, gifts… Now how much do you think is spent on supplementing the mind in comparison? Either to de-stress or optimise mindset… Probably a hella lot lot less, not to say physcial is worth more than mental health. Personally, I now consider and value mental health to be more important than physical. What good is a healthy body without a healthy mind to direct and make sense of what a healthy body can do and achieve. It may be woth considering the best practices, resources, tools, nutition and habits for health of mind and mental health, two quite different concepts but both fundamentally important.
Fundamental (fund-a-mental), the foundation and crucially important investment. Investing in mental health; a short and long-term pay-off. A wise and worthy investment.
If the two are balanced, you are likely on a rewarding and fulfilling path. If not, consider the worth of a resource which helps you optimise your frame of mind not just once, but for the rest of your life. Receive your lifelong meditation practice for the price of a coffee, or couple energy bars, maybe one beverage if your lucky, how about the cost of a lightbulb… Why not invest yourhard earned money towards a resource to enhance how you creatively think in regards to earning an income…
How to Better understand gratitude
Learning to become gracious in itself is a way to achieve a greater understanding of the nature of gratitude. SO how can one be more gracious for those around you? To start, one must become less self-centred and more perceptive of others people’s lifestyle, frame of mind, agenda, work schedule… essentially placing yourself in the mind of others to see the world from their perspective. See if you can be mindful and focus on the images and words of the beautiful aspects of nature in this video by Louie Schwartsberg. Why would placing oneself in the mind of others beneficial? To see and feel how they do, which in turn will highlight times of highest stress or times of when the most support could be helpful. Seeing the problem from their angle and with your experience may lead to creative solutions they may not be able to see due to pressures of work, home or social life. Thinking in the mind of others does not mean acting like them, instead think in a way of what could support their goals, health, wellbeing, time saving thoughts, shorter routes to their goals in mind… What are some great examples of showing gratitude or being gracious? No matter how small or large it may be, the very act of helping of supporting someone without being asked. You do not need to be a mind reader to see if someone could use a hand with carrying a basket of goods, or taking their trolley back to the shop-front. How about preparing someone a nice sit down meal after a challenging time or day. Make a call you wouldn’t normally. Be unexpected in ways which bring happiness and a smile to someone else’s day. Give a smile and you may just receive a smile.
Daily Gratitude – Start by listening, observing and appreciating the smaller things.
How would you rate your listening skills? Are you one to think of other tasks, plans and worries while in conversation. Would you snigger and laugh at someone else’s suffers? Or do you sit back, relax, read the other person in terms of body language, vocal tonality, mannerisms, for key words and to understand what they are describing and how it made them feel? Try listening to peacuful music while focusing on the individual sounds within the piece. This skill is a practice of de-tuning from thoughts and distractions in mind, to re-direct attention single pointedly to a sense and the associations in mind. You may find your mind associating to images, symbols, colours of feeling. Practice noticing and continually re-direct your focus on identifying all the skills possible. To give without need of anything in return paradoxically returns more in terms of emotional fulfilment than expecting something in return. The rewards of being a better person are in fact feelings of being a better person, as odd as it may sound. There is no harm in trying so try to be more giving and caring and see how differently you feel.

Studies have looked at how gratitude can improve relationships. For example, a study of couples found that individuals who took time to express gratitude for their partner not only felt more positive toward the other person but also felt more comfortable expressing concerns about their relationship. Managers who remember to say “thank you” to people who work for them may find that those employees feel motivated to work harder. Researchers at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania randomly divided university fund-raisers into two groups. One group made phone calls to solicit alumni donations in the same way they always had. The second group — assigned to work on a different day — received a pep talk from the director of annual giving, who told the fund-raisers she was grateful for their efforts. Gratitude Key Tips:
- Make note of kind actions of self and other
- Think about other who have done something nice for you.
- Keep a gratitude journal: Make it a habit to share a thought or gift with a loved one or random person.
- Note your experiences: be specific and think about the sensations you felt when something good happened to you.
- Meditate and expand your gratitude horizon.
- Be mindful of nature and people.

- Commit to observe gratitude in self, others and and of nature.
- Practice thinking about being a giving, thoughtful and considerate person in the morning and the actions you can make.
- Do not seek reward in actions. If lead to give in a way to recieve then dissapointment may arise. Acts without desire to be rewarded lead to a greater feelings.
- Practice giving through the gift of selfless act’s to support others.
- Reflect on positive practice and effects. Allow the feelings to fill up inside as you focus on the sensations.
How to Form Habits of Gratitude.
The key lies in consistency of practive. Every morning or evening. Prefurably both. Every Morning:
- Take out a piece of paper, a journal or notebook.
- Write down 3+ points, actions or gifts you could make to supportive others wellbeing.
- Identify the people in mind and write them down. Be it health, life, relationship related…
- Note down 3+ positive acts or experiences you made or recognisedand appreciated today.
- Write down 3+ fortunate events in your day that supported your quality of life, helped you, made you feel good.
Note: If you cannot name 3+ areas you and thankful of then youwill find the gratitude meditation a better starting point of creating a relaxed mindset and gratitude kick-starter to your day.
